Envy
What it is telling youYou want something you have told yourself you do not want.
How He Sees It.
Eric is blunt about envy. If you say you do not care about something but you feel envious or hurt when someone else has it, the feeling is telling you the truth and the statement is not.
He also knows how much of comparison is an illusion. His own early Instagram was all travel highlights, often posted months later, and people still told him he was lucky to travel the world.

“I realized people were comparing their lives with the highlights of somebody else’s.”
“So truly, the only real comparison we can make is to ourselves, because we are the only ones who have lived our lives.”
