Pride

What it is telling youYou kept a promise to yourself. Attach the feeling to the effort, not the result.

Eric’s Reading

How He Sees It.

Eric uses pride deliberately. He looks for small, difficult things, a cold shower or, in his case, a sixth straight week of workouts, that let him say he really did that, and he ties the feeling to doing them rather than to visible results.

It is also how he looks back. Mistakes included, he says he is proud of who he is today.
